An Advent Family Blessing

An Advent Family Blessing

In the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…

Loving Father,

We ask that you bless this family and all the families who are faithfully trying to build your Kingdom here on earth.

Help them know and experience your love through their interactions with one another.  In turn help them share that love with the people who come into their lives every day searching for hope and peace.

Help them to exemplify the virtues of the Holy Family and never lose sight of their significance in our Church.  Like the Holy Family they will encounter struggles, disappointments and times when they are unsure of what the future holds for their family.  Be with them as their light,  as they journey through those dark times.

Most importantly help our young people experience Your love, security, trust, hope and forgiveness in their homes, so they can become strong and confident in their faith.  Willing to witness to your amazing grace and share their faith openly.

For it is through their faith that our young people will change our world and make it a better place.  Bringing your light and love into the lives of strangers, friends and family.

We ask all this through Christ your Son, Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...

All Souls Day: A Time to Remember and Pray
Each year, on November 2nd, Catholics observe All Souls Day— a day set aside to remember and pray for our loved ones who have passed away. While we celebrate those already in heaven on All Saints Day, All Souls Day focuses on those who may still be in purgatory, undergoing final purification before entering the fullness of God’s presence. In Catholic tradition, purgatory is a place of hope and mercy. It’s where souls receive the purification needed to be with God, and our prayers, sacrifices, and Masses offered on their behalf can help. This belief is r...

Pope Francis: True Devotion to Mary Always ‘Points to Jesus’
Pope Francis told pilgrims present at his general audience in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesday that the Blessed Virgin Mary does not focus on herself but on her son, Jesus. “Mary is always the mother that brings us to Jesus,” the Holy Father said. “Mary does not only point to herself. She points to Jesus.” Continuing his catechesis on the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the Church as Jesus’ bride, Pope Francis invited his listeners to reflect on the Mother of God’s presence and special role among Jesus’ apostles....
