This year, His Excellency, Archbishop Christopher J. Coyne, Apostolic Administrator, invites you to the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.   The Chrism Mass is the Liturgy during which the sacred Chrism is consecrated and the Oil of the Sick and the Oil of the Catechumens are blessed.  These oils are sanctified for use at the Cathedral and in all parishes in the Diocese of Norwich for Baptism, Confirmation, the Anointing of The Sick and for the Ordination of Priests.  Together the three oils...

  The 2025 Annual Catholic Appeal, One Faith One Family, Leadership Meeting and Dinner took place on February 26, 2025, at St. Maurice Church in Bolton, CT. Bishop-Elect Reidy was in attendance and heartfully thanked all of the priests, chairpeople and administrative assistants for their hard work on last year’s appeal. The Diocese of Norwich joyfully awaits the ordination and installation of Bishop-elect Richard F. Reidy as the sixth bishop of Norwich, to be held on Tuesday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saint Patrick, Norwich. Celebrating 15 Years of Honoring Catholic Educators This year will mark the 15th Annual Seton Scholarship Dinner, titled respectively after Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton who is known as a founder of this country’s parochial school system, established this nation’s first all-girls Catholic School in Emmitsburg, Maryland. A Tradition of Giving: 47th Annual Layette Event to Support Mothers and Babies in Need
The Norwich Diocesan Council of Catholic Women invites all women of the diocese to join in a heartfelt tradition of compassion and service at the 47th Annual Layette Event. Hosted by the Saint Pio Parish Ladies Guild and Father Hussion Columbiettes, the event will take place on Sunday, May 18th from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Saint John School Gym, located at 161 Main Street in Old Saybrook.
