The Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center in New Haven is hosting a powerful new exhibition titled Among the Persecuted and Displaced: Photographs from Iraq and Nigeria, on display from March 22 through September 7, 2025. The exhibition highlights the stories of Christians who face extreme persecution in these regions, where militant groups like ISIS and Boko Haram have inflicted devastating violence and displacement.
Featuring the work and outreach of Stephen Rasche, an American attorney and advocate for persecuted Christians, the exhibit offers a poignant look into the suffering, resilience, and faith of Iraqi and Nigerian Christian communities. Rasche, a member of the Knights of Columbus, has served displaced Christians in Iraq for several years and more recently extended his mission to Nigeria, focusing on education and healthcare efforts.
Rasche will give a public presentation — also livestreamed — at the McGivney Center on Thursday, March 27 at 11 a.m. ET to introduce the exhibition, with media availability to follow.
The Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center is located at 1 State Street, New Haven, and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free. For more information, visit michaelmcgivneycenter.org or call 203-865-0400.
