Sr. Patricia Rickis, DHS 

December 18, 1942 – September 21, 2024 

Sr. Patricia Rickis, 81, a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT.

Born in Poquonock, CT, on December 18, 1942, she was the eldest daughter of Paul and Anna (Kupchoonis) Rickis. She entered religious life in 1960 and made her profession on June 1, 1962, as Sr. Rose Francis.

Sr. Patricia earned her BA in Education and spent 35 years teaching junior high students in Bridgeport, CT, at St. Anthony/Sacred Heart, Holy Rosary, and St. Ann Schools. After retiring in 2012, she moved to Ella Grasso Apartments in Putnam, CT, where she remained active in the Senior Center.

Proud of her Lithuanian heritage, she was a member of the Knights of Lithuania. 

Sr. Patricia is survived by her Daughters of the Holy Spirit family, her aunt Gerene Gamba, and her nieces Lynn and Holly McCormick. She was predeceased by her sister Judith McCormick and niece Darlene McCormick.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on September 30, 2024, at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish/Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret, CT.
