Help Those in Need and the Environment

Catholic Charities, Providing Help & Creating Hope in New London, Middlesex, Windham & Tolland counties, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program.  The Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, which launched in May 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.  Catholic Charities, Diocese of Norwich was selected as a beneficiary of the program by store leadership.  Catholic Charities, Diocese of Norwich will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased designating them as the beneficiary.

“As more and more grocers and Connecticut retailers begin to phase out single use plastic bags, reusable bags will become a necessity for everyone.  Being able to purchase a reusable bag and help a non-profit like Catholic Charities is a win-win.  Every dollar makes a difference for an agency like ours and every dollar counts!  I hope that Stop and Shop customers will consider Catholic Charities as their beneficiary”, said Edward J. Tessman, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Norwich.  Catholic Charities is a non-profit based in Eastern Connecticut.  Founded in 1921, Catholic Charities has Provided Help & Created Hope to those of all faiths who are most in need throughout Eastern CT.
