Extreme Gratitude
St. Vincent de Paul Place Norwich Inc. has been provided a $1.7 million grant-in-aid for capital renovations and improvements including installing an elevator and build outs for the upper two floors.
We are so excited about this award. A special thank you to State Senator Cathy Osten, State Representatives Derell Wilson and Kevin Ryan, Governor Ned Lamont and everyone else who supported this important project.
Having an elevator is a real game changer for SVdPP as we will now have the 3rd and 4th floors available for additional services and expand community partnerships. This project will allow us to strengthen our infrastructure and to broaden the safety net for individuals and families experiencing hardships.
In the post-pandemic climate, we have seen a tremendous increase in community need. These building improvements will allow us to enhance our services to those who need it most.
At St. Vincent de Paul Place, we foster a sense of trust, belonging, safety and caring for each other. With this trust, we can bring people together to advocate and support each other in the fight to overcome obstacles like food insecurity, lack of affordable housing, access to medical care and underemployment.
Together, we are stronger.
