Saint Bernard Students Run Successful Thanksgiving Food Drive

Saint Bernard families donated nearly 1,000 items to help feed local families on Thanksgiving! Student Council's annual food drive was a success, with 990 items collected to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Place Norwich. The school's donation weighed a total of 680 pounds, according to SVDPP staff.

St. James School in Danielson welcomed 24 veterans from all branches of the military for “Take a Vet to School Day.” Veterans ranging from those currently serving to those who served as far back as World War II, Korea, and Vietnam joined us. The day began with an opening ceremony led by Principal Reed, who offered a prayer for veterans. Kindergarten teacher Kim Barrette sang the National Anthem, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
