The Chancery
The Chancery is composed of those institutes and persons who assist the Bishop in governing the entire Diocese, especially in providing for the administration of the Diocese and directing pastoral action.
The Tribunal
The Diocesan Tribunal acts as the Judicial Arm of the Diocesan Bishop upholding rights and responding to grievances relating to Church Law. Deals mainly in the investigation of and pronouncements on petitions regarding invalidity of marriage (Annulments).
Safe Environments
The Diocese of Norwich and its parishes, schools, and other affiliated institutions is committed to providing safe environments for children, young people, and adults. Safe Environments refers to environments that are created and maintained in an effort to provide all people with the safest possible place in which to minister, study, and work.The responsibilities of this office include overseeing the creation and implementation of safe environments programs and policies.
Office of Development
The Office of Development is responsible for securing the necessary funds to assist the Diocese in its mission to serve God’s people throughout Eastern Connecticut, Fishers Island and through our ministry in Haiti. We also offer assistance and support to the development programs of all Diocesan parishes, schools, and other Catholic institutions and projects within the Diocese. Diocesan Finance Office
The Diocesan Finance Office is responsible for administering the temporal resources of the diocese under the authority of the diocesan bishop. The Finance Office provides services and assistance with financial activities for diocesan parishes and schools and other related organizations. The Office centrally administers insurance and benefit programs, such as, medical, dental, life insurance, 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan, property and automobile insurance and workers’ compensation.
