The Academy of the Holy Family, an all-girls Catholic boarding/day school owned and operated by the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church, located in Baltic  CT. is seeking full time residential staff openings for employment during the school year.  The position is preferably live-in with accommodations provided.   The selected candidates would follow the school calendar, with time off during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and April vacation, along with summer vacation.

As members of the Residential Staff, our primary concern is providing a positive intellectual, emotional and social living environment while assisting with the health, safety and well-being of the girls under our care.  We do this by maintaining a safe, healthy environment for all the students in a professional manner.

The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining appropriate supervision of all students for the duration of their stay in the Academy of the Holy Family, responding in an appropriate and timely manner to student needs, problems, safety, or security concerns. 
  • Verification of  girls present on your release; update clipboard as needed
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the security of all school areas and property, including student’s rooms.
  • Assisting  in the cleanliness of the dormitory general areas
  • Serving as the leader in developing and facilitating an environment on the floor in which students can grow and learn socially as well as academically.
  • Maintaining an open, appropriate, and well-meaning line of communication with all faculty, staff, and administrators and dealing with problems and conflicts directly, honestly, and in an effort toward resolution.   
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records regarding OTC meds, room change, maintenance, damage, and policy violations.
  • Promoting  resident involvement and participation in programs and activities in and out of the residence halls 
  • Advising, referring, and supporting residents as they work through academic and personal issues 
  • Assisting  residents in individual and group conflict mediation
