Role and Responsibilities

St. James School, located in Danielson, CT is actively seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Grade 4 teacher.  The ideal candidate will create an atmosphere that provides a safe learning environment where students can develop a love of learning while following the Mission of Catholic Education and the curriculum of the Norwich Diocese.

• Practicing Catholic, knowledgeable of his/her faith
• Adept at determining students’ strengths and weaknesses and differentiating lessons accordingly.
• Creative lesson plan development and delivery
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Participates in IEP (individual education plan) meetings as scheduled by the school
• Implements NWEA Map testing 3 times a year
• Utilizes technology as appropriate to the grade 4 classroom
• Creates a safe, productive classroom environment

Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certification required.

Preferred Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience
• Understanding of G-suite for education including google classroom
