Xavier High School is seeking applicants for a full-time guidance counselor position.

The ideal candidate will:

• demonstrate a passion for working with adolescent boys in a Catholic, college-prep setting;
• support and uphold the mission of a Catholic and Xaverian educational community;
• demonstrate the ability to counsel students dealing with personal, academic, developmental, and wellness issues;
• collaborate with fellow counselors, faculty members, and the administration in supporting students;
• be committed to working closely with parents and be available for evening and periodic weekend programming;
• be able to coordinate counseling programs and support other school-wide programs;
• demonstrate the ability to guide families through the college application process;
• have superior communication and interpersonal skills;
• possess excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to adapt to the complexities of the job;
• possess at least a bachelor’s degree (a master’s degree is preferred) in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field;
• have counseling experience in a high school setting;
• be open to taking a role in the community outside of the classroom.
