Praying For An End To Abortion
In addition to the ultimate goal of praying for the end of abortion, our prayers to God are also offered up for:
- Mothers who are considering having an abortion.
- Innocent babies defenseless and vulnerable in their mothers’ wombs.
- Men and women who carry the pain of a past abortion experience.
- Workers at Planned Parenthood facilities and abortion centers.
- Local, regional, and national leaders.
- Revival and renewal of our parishes and churches.
- Repentance and healing throughout our Nation.
Two Prayer Vigil Locations
Norwich — 12 Case St.
The Norwich 40 Days For Life Team continues its peaceful prayer vigil on the public sidewalk outside the Planned Parenthood facility at 12 Case St. in Norwich.
New London — 467 Ocean Ave.
New this year, 40 Days for Life also includes a peaceful prayer vigil at 467 Ocean Ave. in New London. Parishes in the New London Deanery and along the shoreline are encouraged to “Adopt-A-Day” and join in prayerful witness for the sanctity of human life.
Participants are encouraged to pray together in groups of two to four on the public sidewalk. Parking is available nearby, including along Pacific Street across from the facility.
WHAT TO EXPECT / HOW TO DO IT
The Norwich 40 Days For Life Team is very pleased to have you join us in standing up for life through peaceful, public prayer. This is not a protest. Participants should remain peaceful, respectful and prayerful at all times and avoid confrontation.
Never Done it Before?
There’s nothing to be afraid of. Most participants sign up for a period of time, pray the Rosary and offer other prayers while walking or standing peacefully on the public sidewalk. Participants are encouraged to pray with others whenever possible.
Norwich — Where to Park and Pray
We recommend parking at Friendly’s, 105 W. Town St. in Norwich (Norwichtown). They have given participants permission to park there.
Friendly’s and Case St. are best reached by Exit 14 on Route 395, the first exit north of Route 2. After parking, walk a few hundred yards on W. Town St. and make a right onto Case Street. Walk up another hundred yards and 
cross the street to the public sidewalk between the two entrances of Planned Parenthood.
Outside the facility, we witness for life by our presence and, if you wish, hold signs provided by your parish Pro-Life representative that read, “Praying for an End to Abortion.” We pray for mothers considering abortion, for their unborn children, for an end to abortion and for a greater respect for the sanctity of human life.
We never confront anyone who wishes to argue. This is a peaceful, prayerful program exercising our Constitutional freedom to pray and stand up for the innocent.
New London — Where to Pray
The New London vigil takes place on the public sidewalk outside 467 Ocean Ave. The location is near Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. Participants may find parking along nearby Pacific Street.
As in Norwich, the New London vigil is a peaceful and prayerful public witness. We recommend that two to four participants pray together whenever possible and that everyone remain on the public right-of-way without blocking sidewalks, driveways or entrances.

Contact your church or parish and find out who your Pro-Life representative is and sign up for your adopted church or parish day.
You can also sign up during the 40 Days for Life campaign by visiting 40DaysForLife.com/Norwich. By signing up, you can also receive information about 40 Days for Life activities throughout the year.
Many Catholic parishes “Adopt-A-Day,” with parishioners coming out to pray, fast and participate in this peaceful community outreach for the protection of unborn children.
Members of other Christian communities and people of faith are also encouraged to join in peaceful prayer for the sanctity of human life.
